Placement Exams

In order to meet a variety of scheduling needs, Wichita State University has recently expanded the options for our students to complete placement exams in math and English. Students can either choose to complete the exam in person or online. Follow the steps outlined below to complete this process.

Step 1: Verify you need to take one or both exams.

Step 2:
 Determine how you would like to take an exam (see the table below for options and details).
Step 3: Complete the exam.
Step 4: Receive scores during an appointment with an academic advisor once the scores have been posted. If you take the exams on Blackboard, you may access your scores there. English scores will not post until they have been graded.

Enrolling in the Blackboard placement exam is NOT necessary.

* Follow the instructions below to pre-enroll in your Blackboard placement exam.

Step 1: Login to Blackboard.
Step 2: Go to the Student Resources tab.
Step 3: In the "Online Placement Exams" module, click link for exam needed and follow on-screen instructions. This module is found in the top, left-hand corner unless you have modified your login screen.

PLEASE NOTE: You will not be able to access the placement exam in Blackboard without a proctor, who will input the password at the time the placement exam is administered.
