Come and Learn Series

Information on the next session coming soon.

This series is designed to highlight different academic programs and opportunities at Wichita State. It is tailored specifically for homeschool students and their families to learn more about what we have to offer.

Get Admitted

Kansas homeschool students can be admitted with a minimum ACT composite of 21 or a minimum combined SAT–I of 980 (verbal and math scores). Students with a qualifying GED are eligible for admission. Non-residents and students with questions about our admissions requirements are encouraged to contact our office.

Scholarships

Distinguished Scholarship Invitational

The Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (DSI) is one of the area's most prominent scholarship competitions.

  • $500,000 scholarship dollars are awarded annually through the DSI
  • 2 winners are selected for the $48,000 Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships
  • The Top 50 competitors receive four-year scholarship packages

To be considered for an invitation to DSI, you must complete the following by Oct. 1:

  • submit a transcript with a minimum 3.50 GPA
  • have a minimum ACT composite score of 24 or SAT composite of 1090 on file with WSU
  • be admitted to WSU

Eligible students will receive an invitation with additional instructions. For more information on DSI and major-specific scholarship competitions, visit www.wichita.edu/dsi.


Try a College Class

WSU invites homeschool students to earn college credit while still in high school. Students wanting to take a course must have a 3.00 homeschool cumulative GPA. Students can be considered for guest admission once they have completed their sophomore year.

Students must submit the following:

• Admissions application
• $30 non-refundable application fee
• Homeschool Transcript
• High School Guest Forms

Once admitted as a high school guest, students do not have to reapply or repay for academic admission. Instead, give our office a call at (316) 978-3085 for the next steps.

Campus Visit

A campus visit will give you an opportunity to see if WSU is the right university to attend to continue your academic journey. During your visit you will have the opportunity to explore our buildings, talk to current students, meet a faculty adviser and get a feel for what it's like to be a Shocker.

Group Visit

Dean's Scholars

The Dean’s Scholars program is a prestigious scholarship initiative created to encourage talented students from the Wichita area to attend Wichita State. Dean’s Scholars are actively involved on campus and give back to the community through the Dean’s Scholars community service initiative.
