Students who attend Wichita State before graduation from high school are considered guest students. Students are eligible to apply for guest admission after the completion of their sophomore year; requests for guest admission by younger students will be considered on an individual basis. In order to be a high school guest student at WSU, students must have at least a 3.0 high school cumulative GPA. Exceptions may be requested by a high school counselor for students who do not meet the minimum GPA. Students who wish to renew as a guest student for subsequent semesters must also maintain a 2.0 WSU cumulative GPA. Students receiving a guest scholarship must maintain a 3.0 high school cumulative GPA AND a 3.0 WSU cumulative GPA. High school guests may take up to six credit hours each semester. If a student wishes to take more than six hours, they must seek permission from the Office of Admissions or an advisor in the Liberal Arts and Sciences Advising Center. Admission to WSU does not constitute permission by an academic department to take courses; all prerequisites for a course must be met before the student enrolls. Students who are admitted as a high school guest are NOT guaranteed degree-bound admission after high school graduation. Students wishing to participate in the High School Guest Program who are in the United States as part of a Foreign Exchange Program must be admitted through the Office of International Admissions. These students will have different requirements and deadlines. Please contact the Office of International Admissions directly at www.wichita.edu/international or (316) 978-3232.
