UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH AND CREATIVE ACTIVITY FORUM
April 9, 2013 (Metropolitan Complex)

Purpose: The Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Forum provides an opportunity for undergraduate students at Wichita State University to present their scholarly and creative activity to a faculty, student, and community audience, while competing for cash awards. Each student's work at the forum is presented under the mentorship of a WSU faculty member.

Date: The next Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Forum will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Metropolitan Complex.

Deadline: URCAF abstracts should be submitted by Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Please keep in mind that the abstracts can describe research in progress, not necessarily research that is completed at the time of abstract submission.

Eligibility: All undergraduate students in good academic standing are eligible to participate either individually or as a team. Undergraduate research and creative activity must be completed during the summer 2012, fall 2012, or spring 2013 semesters.

Requirements: Students must complete the attached application form and submit an abstract (see abstract instructions).  The application form asks students to provide the name of a WSU faculty member who has agreed to serve as faculty mentor and has reviewed the abstract. Student presentations may include material that has been or will be presented elsewhere. Students are responsible for providing and transporting any necessary equipment and/or materials needed for their presentation.

Presentation Options: There are three presentation categories: oral presentation, poster presentation, and exhibition/performance. Both the oral and poster presentation categories will be divided into two separate competitive groupings: humanities/social sciences, and natural/applied sciences. Students from all six colleges are encouraged to apply.

Awards: The winning entries will each receive an award in the amount of $250. Second-place finishers will receive an award in the amount of $100.
