After a long weekend of wrestling in Dalton, GA the Shocker Wrestling team finished the beginning of their postseason competition with a 13th place finish at the 2012 NCWA National Duals. Shockers came in seeded 16th out of the 24 team field; this matched them up with the 17th seeded team, Carroll University, in the first dual. The first dual would later prove to be key as the Shockers took the dual 25-22. Read More
DALLAS – Three new team entrants, plus one of the most balanced fields of NCWA incumbents in recent history, have spiced up expectations for the 2012 NCWA National Duals later this month.
The NCWA, the nation’s fastest-growing collegiate wrestling organization, returns to Dalton, Ga., for its National Duals Tournament that will be its largest yet from Jan. 27-28, 2012. Read More
The wrestling team traveled to York, NE this past Saturday for the York College Open. This was the first tournament of the spring semester for the Shockers, and didn’t go exactly as planned. Pat Mosley had a good showing finishing the day 3-2 and just one match shy of placing in the 165 pound weight class. Other Shockers that competed this weekend were: Evan Amaro (125), Rowan Messner (125), Luke Edwards (157), David Blazevic (184) and Wade Chamberlin (184). Coaches and wrestlers don’t plan to dwell on the York Open as they prepare for NCWA National Duals this week. The team will leave Thursday morning for Dalton, GA where they will see where they stand amongst the top teams in the NCWA.
The NCWA just released the Jan 10th coaches’ poll revealing that the Shocker Wrestling team is beginning to get noticed across the nation. Wichita State came in at 17th in the poll topping the other teams in the Southwest Conference. Read More
Wichita State Wrestlers are very excited to announce that they will be attending the 2012 NCWA National Duals Championship. The tournament will take place in Dalton, GA from January 27th-28th. Read More
Fans were left to stand around the wrestling mat as people quickly filled the stands and packed the Heskett Center for Wichita State’s first ever home dual. Although admission was free, the wrestling team asked for people to bring canned food items or a $1 donation for the Kansas Food Bank. Read More
On Thursday, December 8th at 7 p.m. , come support Shocker Wrestling and the Kansas Food Bank as Wichita State hosts their first home dual ever. They will be taking on the Kansas State Wildcats in an NCWA Southwest Conference matchup. The dual will take place at the Heskett Center, on the campus of Wichita State University, on the upstairs courts. To enter, a donation of a canned food item or $1 is recommended. All donations will go to support the Kansas Food Bank!!!
