Welcome to the WSU Bands website! This site is intended to be useful for current students, prospective WSU students,and citizens of the greater Metropolitan Wichita Community interested in finding information concerning one or more of the six WSU Bands: Concert Band, Jazz Arts II Ensemble, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz Arts I Ensemble, Men’s Basketball Band and Women’s Basketball Band.

(5) Scholarship opportunities, including auditions and application for prospective music majors (music major scholarships) and non-music majors (ensemble service awards)
(6) Placement auditions for all six of the WSU Bands
(7) An up-to-date calendar of concerts, performances, events, and activities for all six bands
(8) Links to the WSU chapters of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Band Fraternity and Sorority
Students from all colleges, schools, departments and disciplines throughout the university are eligible for participation in any WSU band through a “friendly and non-threatening” audition! The audition process is generally for a placement in one of our bands. Our goal is to exclude no one!
Also, a special note to non-music majors, if you have a schedule conflict with a band, contact us, we may be able to work with you and we will make every effort to accommodate your schedule, when possible. We want you to continue to play your instrument and to be a member of our WSU Bands family!
To our prospective WSU Band members (to which our current band members will attest) you will find an immediate circle of friends who are warm, friendly, sincere and willing to help you get acquainted and acclimated to WSU. The members of the WSU Bands are among the finest people you will find on campus or anywhere!
In closing, we hope you enjoy browsing our website, and we hope you will become a member or supporter of one of the most outstanding university band programs in the country.
