About this Event

Join all four WSU Choirs as they ring in the holidays with "Light Everlasting: the 53rd annual Candlelight Concert."  Joined by brass, percussion, and organ, the concert is a celebration of both the holiday season and the breadth of talent of the WSU School of Music.  Get in the spirit of the season with an incredible variety of music, featuring perennial favorites Beautiful Savior and Personent Hodie.  Other concert highlighs will be Light Everlasting, by Olaf C. Christiansen, Eric Whitacre's Lux Aurumque, and the world premiere of Magnificat, written by WSU conductor, Dr. Tom Wine.

The concert features WSU's Concert Chorale and Women's Glee Club, conducted by Dr. Michael Hanawalt, and A Cappella Choir and Madrigal Singers, conducted by Dr. Tom Wine.  Each choir will perform seperately and also as part of a massed choir.  Started by Dr. Harrison Boughton and modeled after the famous St. Olaf College Christmas Festival, the Candlelight Concert is the longest-running musical tradition at Wichita State.
