  Latest South Campus News:

  • Spring Schedules. South Campus class schedules will be available here. Spring 2010 schedules for all WSU campuses can be checked on the Registrar's page; printed schedules will be available soon.
  • Scholarship for freshman and transfer students NEW to WSU . This Sedgwick County scholarship is worth up to $2,000.  Details.
  • More classes yet to start. There are still computer classes yet to start.  Please consult our fall '09 class schedules and enroll in them today! They are mostly one to two credit hours. There is also a class on Major/Career Path starting in November that is perfect for returning adults and others concerned about directions of their future careers.
  • Dropped Enrollment? Check your myWSU account to verify that your enrollments have not been dropped because of non-payment and other issues. Your must re-enroll as soon as possible. Last day of payment of classes starting August 20 - Aug 26 is August 26, 2009 at 5 pm. Non-payment willl result in enrollment cancelation. Details.
  • Fall 09 schedules. We are happy to offer more than 70 classes for the fall '09 session, almost twice as much as what we have this semester. In adddition to our Accelerated Nursing classes, we will be hosting for the first time the senior classes of the undergraduate Social Works program. We will be hosting also for the first time the PET program from the College of Education. These are in addition to the ever increasing number of General Education classes we offer at the South Campus. Look up our schedules now for all these exciting offerings. ENROLL now!
  • South Campus Enrollment Skyrockets. Our enrollments for fall 09 has seen a whopping 700% increase as compared with that when we first started two years ago. Pls look at the classes and special programs we have to offer and join in the fun.  Enroll today! Quality counts.
  • PET - Preparing Educator Together. Starting this fall, the South Campus with its brand new high definition IDL (interactive distance learning) facility will be hosting the PET program. Class lectures will be transmitted in real time to our partners at the Ark City (Cowley college) and Andover (Butler College). For details, please follow this link.
  • Social Work classes all at South Campus! Starting this fall, the South Campus will be hosting all the senior year undergraduate classes of the Social Work program. Please look at our fall schedules for more enrollment info.
  • Accelerated adult learning program. We are conducting an online survey for returning adults about setting up an accelerated adult learning program at the South Campus. If you are an returning adult and want to get your degree fast, please follow this link.

-Nursing Info Session. The next Information Session will be Saturday morning, March 28, 2009 with registration beginning at 9:45 and the program beginning at 10:00 am. This will provide an introduction to the School of Nursing's community-based undergraduate and graduate programs: BSN, RN to BSN, LPN to BSN, RN to MSN and graduate level options. Registration begins at 9:45 am outside Ahlberg Hall, Room 200, Wichita State University campus. Light refreshments will be available. Small group discussion sessions will be held with current students and faculty to answer individual concerns or questions. Our first Satellite Shock event last week to familarize satellite campuses students to free student services at the Main and Satellite Campuses was a success with many of students taking time before and after their classes to talk with student services representatives. Lucky winners for door prizes will be contacted shortly to come pick up their prizes - 020209.

- Satellite Shock. We are hosting our first Satellite Shock event in our lobby on Wednesday, January 26 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. This event serves to promote the awareness of our students to the different student services available for free at the South Campus, and particularly at the Main Campus. Why not take advantage of them when it's free? There will be representatives from different student services on hand to answer your questions.  There will be door prizes, too! -Sign up our email list for WSU campuses news/special events updates and receive a 50% discount card for your printing and xeroxing needs at the South Campus! Your discount card will be for printing and xeroxing at the South Campus only and is good for a month, which can be extended for one more week if you refer another WSU student, or for two more weeks if you refer anyone interested in WSU (not current WSU student and over 15 years old).

-Associate Provost Keith Pickus has announced that Susan Norton will become the new director of Satellite Campuses and Workforce Developmenteffective Oct. 19. Norton has extensive experience in higher education administration, specifically related to satellite campuses and workforce development. She has held positions at Newman University, Cowley Community College and is currently employed by WATC. According to Pickus, "We are extremely fortunate that Dr. Norton has accepted this position. Her administrative and people skills will serve her well as she guides the satellite campuses in the years to come."

-Flu shot day at the South Campus: You can get your flu shot at the South Campus on October 21 from 5 - 7 pm for only $10 for students and $15 for faculty/staff. Please call or email us to sign up.

-A free presentation by Dr. Greg Buell will take place on Monday, Oct 6 at S Campus in Room 111 at 6:30 - 7:00 pm on how to enhance your performance at school and at work. Come to learn all the secrets of success and have a chance to win an iTune gift certificate.

A free presentation by the WSU Admission Office on scholarships is at 6 pm in room 106 at the South Campus tomorrow (Oct 2). Come and ask all the scholarship questions you might have.

- To all students, please check your WSU accounts and make sure that you are officially enrolled in your classes and you are on your instructors' class lists.

-Enroll in a free weekend workshop for returning adults in August. Fees are all paid for by scholarships. This class has been very popular in the past, so enroll now. Details are here.

-American Sign Language classes at South Campus: the Sign Languages classes, CSD260 and CSD480 are now open to enrollment for the first time at the South Campus. Please refer to our class schedules.

-A free workshop entitled "Taking Control: A Financial Management Workshop for Women" will be held at the South Campus on Thursday, August 28, 7-9:30 pm. Seating is limited, please call Barbara Pinaire at (316) 253-4943 to reserve your seat and a free copy of Taking Control financial management workbook.

-Summer registrations in the second four-week session without payment arrangements will be dropped starting at 5:00 p.m. on July 9. Details.

-There is still time to enroll in one-hour credit summer classes starting up soon at South Campus . Get your summer class schedules now. Also, Fall session enrolment is in full gear, do your fall registration and enrolment now before your classes beome full.

-Please be reminded that your summer session enrolments may have been dropped if you had not paid your tuition fees by the June 4 deadline. You will need to re-enrol ASAP to keep your place in your classes. Most of the summer classes will start on June 9, please enrol or re-enrol at your earliest convenience.

-Photo ID: Just to clarify a misprint in the summer class schedules that we do not do student photo IDs at the South Campus. You can obtain your IDs at the Main or West Campus.
