Noncredit Classes

Through the Continuing Education Department, we are offering these FUN, noncredit classes for the spring '15 session at the South Campus. These popular classes will fill fast, please enroll early. If there is any noncredit class you would like to see scheduled, please let us know.

RMEIC - Religion In The Middle East Including Christianity
This class will survey some of the significant religious sites, traditions and stories of the various groups that make up the rich tapestry of religions in the Middle East. The class will also explore the roles that different religions have had historically and in the present and address such questions as: Who are the Yazidis? What is the difference between Shia and Sunni? Why do Jews, Christians and Muslims all make special claims to Jerusalem? Why did some religions die out and others survive? How have different religious traditions justified acts of violence in the name of religion throughout the ages?

Schedule: Every week on Tuesday, starting on 02/03/15 and ending on 03/31/15 (excluding 03/17/15)

PEFD - Principles & Elements of Floral Design
Focuses on the principles and elements of floral design. Four different styles of arrangements will be made during the four-week class. Floral supplies will be provided. Each participant will bring flowers for their arrangements.

BEER - Beer Tasting

Explore beer's amazing history. Learn the basics of evaluating beer by appearance, smell and taste with an expanded beer vocabulary. Learn about different beer styles. Start training your palate to appreciate beer?s unique differences. Each class will consist of a brief lecture followed by a tasting of different beers from around the globe. You must be at least 21 years of age to enroll.
