Strategic Planning Retreat

WSU President John Bardo began the strategic planning process on Sept. 5, 2012 by conducting a strategic planning retreat in Charles Koch Arena.  He presented background information on the new challenges of higher education, specifically noting three key areas of challenge: globalization, the new economy and regionalization. His complete slide presentation may be viewed or downloaded at the link below.

Over 400 individuals from both campus and community attended this kick-off event. The president asked each table of participants to discuss one key area of focus: mission, values, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, obstacles and goals for the university.  After lengthy discussion, each table was asked to present a key idea that emerged from their discussion.  All comments were collected and documented.  A summary of these table discussions may be viewed or downloaded.
