Shocker Heritage Fund

For more than 90 years, the Wichita State University Alumni Association has provided programs that benefit our alumni, friends, faculty and students on campus, across the country and even internationally.  Our mission remains the same: to create, maintain and enhance relationships among university students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends that will foster loyalty, interest and support for Wichita State and one another.

WHAT IS THE SHOCKER HERITAGE FUND?

The Shocker Heritage Fund provides crucial support for the continuance of current association programs, as well as allowing for the initiation of new areas of service.  Contributions to the fund help us maintain strong, effective alumni programs and traditions, many of which would not exist without the financial commitment of our alumni and friends.  Some of the association's current programs are listed below.

• Scholarship support – through our Shocker License Plate, Endowed and Legacy Scholarships.

• The Shocker – our full-color magazine featuring the University and WSU alumni.

• Support of the annual Shocker Honors Scholar Banquet to help recruit students to WSU.

• Sponsorship, creation and enhancement of alumni chapters and professional societies.

• Support for the Career Network Experience – providing WSU students with alumni mentors.

• Sponsorship of the annual Alumni Awards Banquet and 50-Year Class Reunions.

• Support for the Student Alumni Association and annual Senior Breakfast for all graduating seniors.

• Maintaining the files and records for more than 140,000 alumni and friends.

• Support for the Distinguished Alumni Speaker Breakfast Series and Shocker Travel Program.
