- Declared accounting, finance or MIS as your major ACTIVITIES FOR MEMBERS AND PLEDGES: Our Chapter has professional meetings each Friday evening at 6:00pm. Our VP of programs provides the speakers from various firms, corporations, and organizations here in Wichita. In addition to the meetings we have tours to businesses in Wichita and we sponsor socials. In April or May each year, Beta Alpha Psi hosts an Interview Workshop for Beta Alpha Psi members, pledges and anyone in the School of Business that would like to participate. We also have a mentoring program with representatives from several CPA firms and several companies from different industries across Wichita. Every March members of our chapter attend the Beta Alpha Psi Regional Meeting and in August we send representatives to the National Beta Alpha Psi Meeting. We were co-host in 1998 to the Regional Meeting held in Dallas, Texas. Our members also participate in the National Competitions (IMA Case, the Graduate Case Seminar, and several others). We co-sponsor with the School of Accountancy the annual Accounting and Auditing Conference each May. CAMPUS ACTIVITIES: Our Chapter participates in Hippodrome, the Activities Fair, and Open House fairs. Each year our chapter elects an officer to be our representative on the Dean's Student Council Board, and to help organize the Back to Business Bash in the Fall semester. For those students on campus who need help with accounting, Beta Alpha Psi has an Accounting Lab each semester. The lab is for the beginning accounting classes and some secondary classes. COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES: The Epsilon Tau Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi works with numerous organizations in the Sedgwick County area. We work with the Salvation Army (collecting school supplies and ringing the bell at Christmas time) and The Sedgwick County Zoo (The Night of the "Living Zoo" and the Easter Egg Hunt). We have also worked with Booth Memorial Residence, the Wichita Children's home, the Wichita River Festival, and the Jingle Bell Run Walk. We also aid local firms in conducting audits.
