TEACHING ASSISTANTSHIPS
The great majority of students in the graduate creative writing program hold teaching assistantships for all or part of their residence. The stipend for 2007-2008 is $8500.00, in addition to remission of tuition. Graduate students teach 2 sections of English composition per semester and have full charge of their courses. Deadline for assistantship application for the fall semester is February 10th, but applications should be made well in advance of that date. Deadline for assistantship application for the spring semester is October 1st. Applications received after these dates are considered separately and at the discretion of the department.
