Music is in the spring air
1:59:27 PM CDT - Wednesday, April 23, 2003
The Wichita State University Madrigal Singers and Chamber Singers will present an annual spring concert 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, in Wiedemann Recital Hall. Special guests for this performance will be Goddard High School Concert Choir.
The Madrigal Singers are under the direction of Tom Wine, associate professor of music education. Students will have an opportunity to conduct a portion of the program. Rounding out the program is a reprise of two selections from a recent performance at the Kansas Music Educators Association conference, two new arrangements by Canadian composer Jonathan Quick, and "My Soul's Been Anchored in the Lord," an arrangement by Moses Hogan.
The Chamber Singers, under the direction of graduate student Amy Batt, have prepared a program of sacred and secular music. The Goddard High School choir, under the direction of David Sharlow, will include the return of former WSU Madrigal Singer, Kevin Moler, as guest conductor. Moler is completing his student teaching at Goddard.
Tickets are $5, with discounts available. Call 978-3233 for reservations.
