Celebrate Shocker Success
8:52:48 AM CDT - Thursday, April 07, 2005
WSU athletics is holding a free public event at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 10, to celebrate one of the best Shocker men's basketball seasons in years.
The celebration, which includes an awards program and video highlights from the season, replaces the men's basketball annual awards banquet.
Starting at 6 p.m., the players and coaches will meet and greet the public. An awards program and comments from head coach Mark Turgeon will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The men's team just completed a 22-10 season, which included two home wins in the postseason NIT and 11 sellout home games. The team finished second in the Missouri Valley Conference and was ranked in the top 30 for nine weeks.
During the April 10 celebration, the souvenir shop and concession stands will be open, and video highlights from the season will be shown on the video board.
