National OWHE director to speak

The national director of the Office of Women in Higher Education will talk about the history of the group and its current activities during an Oct. 12 meeting of WSU's OWHE.
The OWHE, which is part of the American Council on Education, promotes the advancement of women in academic leadership roles.

| Donna Burns Phillips | Donna Burns Phillips will give her free lecture at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Joan Beren Gallery of the Ulrich Museum. The lecture is open to the public.
As national director, Phillips is responsible for designing and implementing programs that support OWHE's mission of preparing and encouraging women to take leadership roles in higher education.
Prior to joining ACE, Phillips was a tenured member of the English department at Cleveland State University, where she served four years as president of the University Faculty Senate and two years as chair of the Ohio Faculty Council. She's also taught part time at George Mason University.
Phillips' talk is co-sponsored by WSU's Center for Women's Studies.
