HLC team plans open forums
7:56:00 AM CDT - Thursday, March 01, 2007
A 10-member team of educators will visit WSU March 26-28 as part of the final stages of WSU's reaccreditation process through the Higher Learning Commission.
The WSU community has spent the past three years preparing a self-study report for the HLC.
The on-site team visit, headed by Bill Knight from Bowling Green University, allows the HLC to gather even more input from the WSU community, according to Nancy McCarthy Snyder, the associate vice president for academic affairs and research who has been spearheading WSU's reaccreditation process.
The HLC will hold open, concurrent, one-hour meetings starting at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 26, for faculty in 218 Hubbard, classified staff in 305 Rhatigan Student Center, unclassified professionals in 201 Ahlberg Hall, and students in 215-217 RSC.
The HLC team will end its visit with an open meeting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, in the Marcus Welcome Center auditorium, where it will share the recommendations it will make to the HLC board on WSU's reaccreditation.
The team will later prepare a written report that the university may respond to before going to the HLC board for action.
