WSU's engineering programs are rich in theory and application due to top-notch faculty, stat-of-the-art facilities, and urban location. All of the graduate engineering faculty are research associates at WSU's National Institute for Aviation Research; and all engineering graduate students can us NIAR's crash dynamics lab, shock and vibration lab, propulsion lab, flight simulation lab, materials lab, wind tunnels, computing facilities, and engine lab for their research and course work. 

The College of Engineering facilities also include smoke, water, and boundary layer tunnel; a structural testing laboratory; a composites producibility
