Special Registration or NSEERS (National Security Entry/Exit Registration System), which began in fall of 2002, has recently been updated. The Department of Homeland Security announced in December 2003, that it will suspend the requirement for re-registration 30 days after arrival and one year of continuous presence in the United States.
