The official University textbook requisition form is available online in the faculty section of WSUBooks.com, the website of the University Bookstore. Further information about requisitions may be obtained by contacting the Course Materials department of the University Bookstore. The compiled information regarding required textbooks will be made available to others by the University Bookstore upon written request at a nominal cost for reproduction.
Desk Copy:
The bookstore provides a "Desk Copy Request Form" that faculty members
can fill in and mail to the publisher. The publisher will provide
desk copies, usually within two weeks. In extreme situations,
such
as a new faculty member arriving late or last minute course changes,
the
bookstore will provide a desk copy. The request must be made by
the
department head and the book will be charged to the departmental charge
account. If a new, unmarked, saleable copy of the book is
returned
within 30 days, a full refund credit to the charge account will be
allowed,
otherwise the charge becomes due.
Textbook and Course Materials Refund:
Textbooks and course materials may be returned to the bookstore through
the third week of each regular semester when accompanied by a
University
Bookstore cash register receipt. Textbooks and course materials
which
were purchased new must be returned in absolutely new condition to
receive
a full refund. Books and course materials which were purchased
used,
or have been marked or damaged in any way are considered used, and will
be refunded accordingly. Defective materials may be returned for
replacement, with a University Bookstore cash register receipt.
Books,
packets, class syllabi, and other photo copied materials labeled as
Non-Returnable,
may not be returned for refund. Merchandise purchased by check or
cash will receive a cash refund. Purchases made by credit card,
bank
card, or with the Shocker Card will be refunded accordingly.
Textbooks
and course materials purchased after the third week of classes (see
below
for summer, pre-sessions, post-sessions and workshop policies) may be
returned
for a refund up to three days from the date of purchase if in the same
condition as when purchased and with a University Bookstore cash
register
receipt. No refunds will be made for purchases made after mid
term
or during finals of any session.
Summer Textbook and Course Materials Returns:
Textbooks and course materials may be returned to the bookstore through
the fifth day after your class begins. Please see the Textbook
and
Course Materials Refund Policy (above) for the balance of the summer
policy.
Pre-sessions / Post-sessions / Workshops:
Returns will be accepted for short session classes through the third
day after classes begin if the requirements for the general policy are
met. Purchases made after the third day of class are not
returnable.
Textbooks and course materials purchased for one- to four-day workshops
and classes are not returnable.
Textbook Buyback:
The bookstore will buy textbooks year-round at national market
prices.
However, the end of term buy back will offer the best prices. Buy
back prices will vary according to whether the book will be used at the
University the following semester. When the bookstore has been
informed
by the faculty that a book is being used the following semester and the
book is in good condition, the usual buy back price is one-half of the
book's current new retail price (regardless of whether it was purchased
new or used). The bookstore reserves the right to pay the
national
market price for titles which are overstocked. The book buyers
have
a thorough knowledge of the book market and pay the prevailing market
prices.
If any question arises regarding price or particular title during the
buy
back period, please ask the buyer for the individual price of that
book.
