17.06 / Common Areas

Lounge and Lobby Usage:
Lounge areas are available for programming up to two days per week. Use is limited to once per month per organization. Sound equipment may be used in the lounge provided the sound level does not exceed a dBA sound pressure level of 76. A dBA sound monitor has been installed to measure this level. The use of sound equipment is limited to one public area at a time. Furniture in the lounges may be removed by obtaining special permission at the time the space is reserved. Events in the Shocker Lounge should not block or otherwise inhibit access to and from the Shocker Card Center and/or Commerce Bank. Any exceptions to the above policies must be approved by the Director of the Rhatigan Student Center.

Patio Usage:
Special arrangements need to be made with the University Reservations Manager when the patio on the east side of the Rhatigan Student Center is to be used. Use of the patio is an outside event and must be scheduled through the University Reservations Office. Events taking place on the patio during class hours may not exceed one and one half hours in duration and the sound equipment levels must be kept low.
