The process of manufacturing parts to be used in the assembly of products begins with raw steel. Raw steel arrives at the plant as 4 ft by 8 ft sheets of varying thickness, as bars, as rods, as tubes, or as angle iron. It is heat treated tron that is to be made into a useful part. The process of converted raw steel into various components is referred to as fabrication.
