KSTEI Problems and Scenarios

The KSTEI problems and scenarios are:
- actual applications of mathematics and science content related to
the job descriptions of personnel employed in a specific Kansas Strategic
Technology. Some of the K - 4 and other lower-level problems are designed
to build readiness for higher-level applications.
- based on actual tours and interviews with personnel of a specific
Kansas Strategic Technology and have been approved for our use by our contact
person(s) at that company.
- designed to replace generic problems and scenarios that are now a
part of many mathematics and science curricula, helping students realize that
these concepts have real-life applications in the jobs of members of the Kansas
workforce.
KSTEI problems and scenarios were written by Kansas mathematics
and science classroom educators and have been reviewed by members of Kansas
Association of Teachers of Mathermatics (KATM) and Kansas Association of Teachers
of Science (KATS). Each problem or scenario has one or more hints in a separate
section which can be accessed by clicking on the "hint" button.
