KSTEI Project Background

The Kansas Strategic Technologies Education Initiative

is a project of the

Kansas Mathematics and Science Education Coalition (KMSEC)

designed to ensure an

internationally competitive, highly-skilled workforce

through projects that result in

standards-based student applications of mathematics and science problem-solving workskills directly related to Kansas strategic technologies.

The Initiative incorporates the direct concerns of Kansas business, industry, and education into a statewide, multi-year, multifaceted comprehensive program. It links diverse projects that will assure systemic change in science and mathematics education into a shared vision and mission that address educational goals of the Kansas Strategic Plan for Economic Development and is designed to ensure an internationally competitive, highly-skilled work force.
