Special Announcements

December 18, 2008 - The finals are scored and final grades are posted.  Have a wonderful break.

December 15, 2008 - The grades spreadsheet has been updated with everything I have for the semester.  I have also revised the formulas to reflect the fact that the final will be comprehensive.  If you input a final exam score, it should correctly show your final grade.  That way you can see what you need to earn on the final to get the grade you desire.

See you Thursday morning. 

December 11, 2008 - FINAL EXAM DATE CORRECTION!  Our final is scheduled for THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18 at 8:00 A.M.  Sorry for the confusion.  If you want to take the final early, you may do so any time by Wednesday at the Testing Center. 

December 3, 2008 - I have decided to go with a comprehensive final exam.  As I mentioned in class, if your final exam score is greater than the average of all three exams, it will replace your other exam scores.  I have posted a review sheet to help you prepare for the final. 

A student asked whether the previous course final exam posted on the Homeworks page would be a good study tool for the final.  The answer is yes, with the exception of problem 3, which is on material that we will not cover this semester.   

November 30, 2008 - Wow!  All of the grades are updated.  Just a couple of points to note.  First, I am going to go through the regression project on Tuesday.  I graded this project based on process, not actual results.  I have made comments on your assignment writeups (or via e-mail).  If you want to replace your grade on this assignment, you may address the comments I gave you and turn in a new assignment next Tuesday.  I hope each of you will end up with 10/10 on the project. 

Second, I am considering making the final exam a comprehensive final, which can be used to replace your other exam grades.  We will discuss this in class on Tuesday.

November 5, 2008 - Just a reminder, the exam is tomorrow morning, but the Regression Project due date has been pushed back until next Tuesday.

October 30, 2008 - The Regression Project assignment sheet has been posted.  I STRONGLY suggest you work on various model specifications over the weekend and bring any questions to class with you on Tuesday. 

October 27, 2008 - I have posted a new version of the Sale_Comparison_Data.xls spreadsheet.  I suggest you download it and bring it with you to class. 

October 2, 2008 - Remember, no class on Tuesday.  The homework assignment for next Thursday is now posted.  In addition, I have updated the grade spreadsheet with all the new nicknames I have received so far. 

September 30, 2008 - Take 4 - Hopefully everything is up there now.  I have now posted the exam and its solutions. I also updated the grades spreadsheet with those nicknames people gave me today.

September 30, 2008 - Take 3 - Now the lecture notes from today are posted as well. 

September 30, 2008 - Take 2 - Sorry about the spreadsheet mix-up.  If you do not see your nickname on the grade sheet, give it to me again.  You may either e-mail it to me or give it to me on Thursday.

By the way, I have posted the homework assignment I mentioned in class today. 

September 30, 2008 - The first midterm is graded and a grade spreadsheet is posted.

September 14, 2008 - I have posted a review sheet for the midterm exam next Tuesday.  The midterm will consist of one or two problems and several (3 or 4) short essay questions from those listed on the review sheet.  It will be a closed book exam. 

September 13, 2008 - I have posted a homework assignment relating to the concepts of land value as a residual and highest-and-best use.  In addition, the notes from Thursday are linked on the Schedule page.  Finally, note the changes to the schedule.  In particular, the first midterm will be on Tuesday, September 23. 

September 5, 2008 - The SmartBoard notes from yesterday are now posted.

September 2, 2008 - I have posted the PowerPoint from today as well as the homework assignment that I gave in class today.
