I want your feedback on the course.

Special Announcements

May 5, 2009 - Two quick notes.  First, the team member evaluations are now ready on the BlackBoard site for this class.  Remember that you MUST complete this for each member of your group (including yourself) or you will fail the class.

Second, there is NO write-up due for last-night's lecture.  Just focus on your project presentations.

April 28, 2009 - I have posted everything I have so far in the BlackBoard grade book.  If you think you've turned in a write-up and it doesn't show up there, it either means I didn't receive it, or it is one of a few write-ups I have with no name (check with me on Monday).

April 24, 2009 - I have made arrangements for us to go on a field trip Monday night. Our class will be meeting in the lobby of the Stinson Morrison Hecker building at 1625 N. Waterfront Parkway near 13th and Webb Road (in the Waterfront development, if you couldn't guess). Our speaker will be Paul Jackson with Vantage Point Properties (Wichita's most prominent office developer).

We will meet at our normal time; expect to be there at least 2 hours. When Mr. Jackson's presentation is done, we will be finished for the evening.

April 7, 2009 - I have posted Mr. Ritchie's PowerPoint from last night on the "Lectures" page.

March 31, 2009 - Mr. Clark's presentation from last night is posted on Black Board in the course documents section.

February 19, 2009 - The presentations from Monday are now posted.

February 13, 2009 - I'm sorry for being slow to get the presentation materials from Monday night posted.  They are now available on the Lectures page of the website.

January 31, 2009 - I have posted revised lecture notes for Monday night.  You may download them now.

January 30, 2009 - I have formed six groups for the course.  There are 3 or 4 people in each group.  You should be able to access your group tools on Blackboard now.  Please make sure you belong to one and only one group.

January 27, 2009 - I have revised the schedule for the course.  Of particular importance is the fact that I've changed the due dates for the interim project reports.  Please take note of the new dates.

I will try and have your group assignments put together and set up on Blackboard before the end of the week.

January 15, 2009 - Welcome to RE 619, Urban Land Development.  This will be a hands-on course that covers all aspects of real estate development, including the initial formation of the idea, conducting market research, designing the project, analyzing its financial feasibility, negotiating contracts, overseeing construction, and interacting with government officials and community groups.

Please note that this website is under construction.  All of the information posted right now comes from the last time I taught the course.  None of the material here should be considered accurate until the semester begins.  I will let you know when I have the final information posted.
