The essays will use the article as a basis for discussion and synthesis of ideas. The essays can be synopses or summaries of the article and can include personal or exogenous materials. There should be a good flow of ideas within paragraphs and within the essay as a whole. The essay should be coherent and well written. Essays must adhere to the specific guidelines for length and format to receive full credit. Graded essays will be returned in class and the grades will be posted on Blackboard.

Summary 1 is due by the end of class on February 14.
Summary 2 is due by the end of class on March 14.
Summary 3 is due by the end of class on April 13.
Late assignments will not be accepted, even those simply submitted later on the due date. Summaries must be submitted as hard copies. Electronic versions sent by email will not be accepted.
Follow these directions exactly!
Each essay should be only one full page in length. Essays longer than a single page will not be accepted. The essays should be single-spaced, with 10 to 12 point type (Times New Roman preferred), and no more than one-inch margins. There should be approximately 37 lines of text (excluding title and name), 500 words, and 3000 characters (no spaces). Failure to follow these rules will reduce the possible points awarded.
