Students from Northeast High School had two GK-12 Research Club projects submitted the Kansas Junior Academy of Sciences advance to the state finals. While they did not win the competetion, their scores were exemplary. One project (Valsalva) was awarded second place (highly superior) in the small high school division and another (antimicrobials) was distinguished as superior. An abstract of Parati's work with Valsalva during lifting can be found here, while Towne's work with antimicrobial compounds from plants can be found here.
