Assistant Prof. of Physics for Fall 2008

The Department of Physics at Wichita State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in high-energy, nuclear or astro-particle physics. The position is expected to be at the Assistant Professor level. The candidate will join the Fermilab Main Injector Particle Production experiment E907/P960 with an interest to then use this cross-section data in future efforts such as astro-particle physics experiments like Ice-Cube, the International Linear Collider or nuclear anti-proton physics. A Ph.D. or equivalent in physics, postdoctoral experience, effective communication skills and experience with diverse populations is required. Candidates with prior experience in pursuing an externally-funded research program and experience in teaching undergraduate physics courses are preferred.
