General Timeline

September	Complete the Kansas Science Olympiad Registration and pay your registration fee of $100. (For those of you that have participated prior to the 2008-09 school year please note that the national membership fee is now incorporated into the state membership fee. *You should no longer register with the national office*.) Once KSO receives your membership fee you will receive your coaches manual. If you want additional coaches manuals or other helpful resource materials visit the National Science Olympiad Store. (Note: as of the 2008-09 school year the national office is no longer making student manuals available.) Register for the Kansas Science Olympiad Coaches Workshop. (See the Coaches Workshops link to the left.) Begin to organize your team
October	Attend the Kansas Science Olympiad’s Coaches Workshop that is held on the 3rd Saturday in October at Wichita State University The deadline to register for the Kansas Science Olympiad is in early November. If you haven’t registered don’t forget to do so. If you haven’t already started to organize your team, you should start now.
November	Regional Assignments are usually made by mid-November Continue working with your team
December	Continue working with your team Participant in an Invitational Tournament if there is one in your area
January	Continue working with your team Participant in an Invitational Tournament if there is one in your area Salina Regional Tournament
February	Compete in your regional tournament
March	Notification of teams that are invited to the state tournament State tournament registration due
April	State Tournament held on the first Saturday in April at Wichita State Teams receive notification of invitation to national tournament
May	National Tournament occurs (normally held on the weekend before Memorial Day weekend)
