State ListServ: The Kansas Science Olympiad runs an e-mail listserv for teachers and coaches! It also serves as a way to announce events and Science Olympiad news.
SUBSCRIBING to the KSO ListServ: One of the first steps to participating in a mailing list is to subscribe to a list. This is a relatively simple task. Just send an e-mail message to the following address: Any statements in the subject line are not processed. The command must be the first text in the body of the note, any white space is ignored. The message should read as follows: subscribe ksscioly-l "your first name" "your last name" (no quotes; note that the character after the dash is a lower case "L" not a "1".) In a short while you will get a message telling you your status with this listserv.
POSTING MESSAGES: If you what to send a note or post a question to the group send an e-mail message to: ksscioly-l@listserv.wichita.edu (note that once again the character after the dash is a lower case "L" not a "1".) Once you post a message you will receive an e-mail from: "Wichita State University LISTSERV Server (15.5) [LISTSERV@LISTSERV.wichita.edu]" asking you to confirm the message. You can confirm it either by clicking on the link provided in the e-mail or by replying to the e-mail with only "ok" (no quotes) in the body of the message. Please Note: Your message does not go out until you confirm that it originated with you. So if you post the message and walk away from your computer, thinking that it has gone out, you are mistaken. It is that easy!
Removing Yourself from the List: If you ever want to remove yourself from this mailing list, you can send mail to listserv@listserv.wichita.edu with the following command in the body of your email message: signoff ksscioly-l Please Note: You must send the signoff message from the same e-mail address you used to sign on (and thus are receiving messages at).
National Science Olympiad Coaches ListServ: This mailing has been established to allow coaches to communicate with each other about topics relating to coaching science olympiad teams. To subscribe to the list you should send e-mail to: science-olympiad-coaches-owner@yahoogroups.com with no subject and no message. Once you have registered, you will receive instructions on how to post messages.
