Recommendations of the University Tenure and Promotion Committee, 2008-2009

The following recommendations were made by the University Tenure and Promotion Committee.

The Barton School of Business tenure and promotion guidelines were reviewed by the University Committee.  There were no recommended changes to their guidelines.

The College of Engineering tenure and promotion guidelines were also reviewed by the University Committee.  The following changes were approved:

Application for professor incentive review (PIR)

The professor incentive review (PIR) applications are considered following the same guidelines and evaluation process as the promotion to the rank of professor applications, for a six-year period (based on five years of record).  No early PIR application shall be considered for evaluation.

Peer Review Procedure

In line with the university tenure and promotion guidelines, the use of external peer reviews is mandatory for all tenure and promotion applications.  However, external peer reviews are not part of the professor incentive review (PIR) process.
