SUBJECT:       Senate Committee Annual Report

The Faculty Senate Tuition Advisory Committee, during the academic year of 2004-5, consisted of the following members:

                                    Elizabeth Behrman, Past President, Faculty Senate             

                                    Chris Brooks, President-elect, Faculty Senate

                                    Lloyd Harp, President, Classified Senate

                                    Joe Kleinsasser, President, Unclassified Professional Senate

                                    Will Klunder, President, Faculty Senate

                                    Nathan Price, Vice President, Student Government Association

                                    Michael Schlotterbeck, Treasurer, Student Government Association

                                    Drew Sell, President, Student Government Association

The Tuition Advisory Committee met for the first time since its inception during the fall semester to review budgetary needs and discuss recommendations concerning tuition to the president of the University.  During the spring semester, it was unanimously agreed to seek additional funding through tuition for the University Libraries.  This recommendation was incorporated by President Beggs in next year's budget—a 1% tuition increase is earmarked for the Libraries. It was gratifying to work together with the students and the other constituency heads to accomplish our goal.  The Tuition Advisory Committee will meet next year under the leadership of Chris Brooks.
